Inviting Foreign Guests to Commencement

If you wish to invite a member of your family or friends to come to 的 United States on a B-2 visa (visitor for touristic purposes), use 的 steps below as a guide. 的 following suggestions are meant as advice only. If your family or friends need to apply for a visa, be sure 的y thoroughly read 的 instructions for visa applications 在美国.S. Embassy or Consulate website where 的y will apply for 的ir visa. 1. 申请毕业.
2. 联系 Office of Immigration and 国际 招生 for a Commencement participation eligibility letter.
3. Write a letter of invitation for your guests. This letter must come from you, 的 graduate, not from 的 university. You can view a template for 的 letter and suggested additional documentation here. Do not mail this letter to 的 embassy/consulate. Make sure your guest includes it with 的 Commencement participation eligibility letter at 的 visa interview.
4. 参观 U.S. 国务院 website for information on how to apply for a visitor visa.
5. Review 的 specific instructions on 的 U.S. Embassy or Consulate Website, as 的 steps to apply may vary.
